Studio 22 Productions can provide cost effective original music for your production. Although most of us are now acustomed to hearing MIDI based scores for film, TV and advertising, it's no secret that performance by real live musicians brings a vibrancy to a sound track that purely computer based production can never match. Even if you don't have a $100,000+ budget for your film score Studio 22 Productions can give you a finished product with a big orchestral sound. The trick is to use a few talented musicians to replace key tracks in the score to give the music that vibrancy that comes only from live music making.

Here is an example of a film score produced in that way by Studio 22 Productions. The film is "Radev" by Matt Cleaves, music by Tom Campbell - closing scene and credits (warning: strong language in the dialogue track). In this example the French horns are real and the synthesised Russian male choir is enhanced with several tracks of real voices.

"Radev" excerpt

Music sets the mood of a scene more powerfully than words or images. Here is a set of musical variations on the same movie clip which show how entirely different stories can be told simply by using different musical treatments. In these examples only the French horn lines are played by a real musical instrument; all others are MIDI samples. The music can be even more effective with more lines performed by real instruments.

Here are two more contrasting scoring examples for a single scene:

"Radev" Crazy Russian Waltz (3.1 MB)

"Radev" Crazy Russian Serious (2.4 MB)

All of the music on this website was composed by Tom Campbell and produced by Studio 22 Productions (Sextett No. 1 recorded by 3MBS radio). Other music scoring examples can be found on the Movie Production page and Audio Production page
